Great for all-around astronomical observing, the highly portable, uncomplicated Orion SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector telescope is just the right size and price for your beginning astronomers and their families. Weighing just 16lbs. total, the SpaceProbe 3 boasts features and viewing capabilities usually reserved for much more expensive instruments. The Orion SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector Telescope lets the whole family enjoy beautiful night sky treasures from the backyard. With this telescope and its 700mm focal length (f/9.2) you can view the cratered surface of the Moon, breathtaking rings of Saturn, and gigantic Jupiter along with its brightest moons. The SpaceProbe 3 Reflector's 3 inch diameter optics gathers enough light to view all of these things and more! You can even catch faint glows of some very exotic star clusters and nebulas of deep-space! The aluminum Newtonian reflector telescope tube features a smooth-adjusting 1.25 inch rack-and-pinion focuser to ensure precise focus adjustments and sharp views in the eyepiece. Speaking of which, the Orion SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector comes with two interchangeable 1.25 inch Explorer II eyepieces – 25mm (28x) and 10mm (70x) as well as an Orion EZ Finder II Reflex Sight to aid in locating objects and aiming the telescope. An adjustable-height tripod with accessory tray and aluminum legs is also included with this feature-packed telescope. The SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector Telescope comes with the EQ-1 equatorial mount. This mount mimics our planets rotational axes, and allows easy manual tracking of celestial objects with included slow-motion control cables. (The SpaceProbe 3, like all Newtonian Reflector telescopes, is not recommended for terrestrial viewing as images seen through it will appear upside-down). For the beginner who's excited to discover what's out there, the inexpensive SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector Telescope provides a lot of performance for a modest investment!
Orion Dobsonians have always been known for superb optical and mechanical quality, wonderful ease of use, and remarkably affordable prices. One other thing they – and almost all other Dobs on the market – have had in common: you pushed the telescope to your observing target by hand. Until now. Orion is pleased to herald another giant leap in Dobsonian evolution with the introduction of the SkyQuest XTg series of fully motor driven GoTo Dobsonians. Now, pointing a Dob to even the most elusive of NGC curiosities is as easy as pushing a button or two on the XTg Dobsonians' illuminated hand controller. High-torque servo motors guided by two pairs of high-resolution encoders then slew the telescope right to your object of interest – any of over 42,000 objects in the GoTo controller?s database. No more nudging the telescope tube continuously to keep the object from drifting out of the field of view, either. The XTg automatically tracks the object's motion, keeping it centered in the eyepiece while you savor the view. What's more, the closed-loop electronics of the XTg let you move the telescope manually – or endure the accidental bump – without losing orientation for accurate, automated GoTo pointing!
Ideal for the observer who views both astronomical and terrestrial objects, the Meade Infinity Series combines an altazimuth mount and quality optics for a superb value. For newcomers and beginners alike, these refracting telescopes are a great way for you to discover the cosmos and the outdoors. You’ll discover more with the Meade Infinity Series.
The Meade Infinity 60 Refractor telescope is an excellent telescope to introduce a younger audience to astronomy. This 60mm (2.4") aperture gives bright, sharp images for both land and celestial objects. Whether you're viewing the lunar craters, rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter, or terrestrial objects, the Infinity 60 Refractor allows the first-time observer to explore the world, solar system, and beyond.
This is a big, friendly horse of a telescope you can ride off into the sunset with, and then thrill to well resolved celestial views when twilight fades. The SW 10" DOB is an very satisfying telescope to own, an instrument that will provide a lifetime of continuing exploration of the heavens. This telescope will hit the sweet-spot for many amateurs, providing all the capability and value you are seeking in a large aperture telescope. Sky-Watcher's revolutionary truss-support concept allows the optical tube's front and back cells to collapse together, aligning on the truss support rods which can then be locked down for easy and secure telescope transport. This one piece, low-hassle OTA design is mechanically simple and results in a large aperture telescope that can be reasonably handled and transported by one individual. This innovation gives Sky-Watcher users tremendous functional ease-of-transportability.
